3 Days in Rome

Tuesday through Thursday of last week we spent getting up for a simple breakfast, and hitting the city- which has been HOT- and going to the most popular tourist attractions.
Day 1:
  • Trevi Fountain
  • Pantheon (Amazing)
  • Spanish steps
  • Piazza Navona
  • General meandering.

Day 2:
  • Colosseum- We used the Roma Pass for this and it was a very good idea. Essentially skipped through the whole line. This was one of my favorite places we went. We wished we had gotten the Underground tickets ahead of time, but we weren't on top of things. It seems like it would have been a pretty fascinating tour.
  • Archaeological dig of Augustus Ceasar's old palace, and surrounding area.
Day 3:
  • Vatican city- We got reservations ahead of time for the museum, which allowed us to skip the majority of the HUGE line at the time we went. When we came out, the line was down significantly because it was 12:30. So we hurried over to St. Peter's Basilica, while there was no line there. It was PERFECT timing, because again as we came out the line had gone from 0 to about 200, I'd guess. The coolest part of that was the grotto, where all the tombs of old popes were. It was eerie, but interesting.
